A Twilight Zone Fan-Fic

[spoiler=Episode 1: Fawn's Prey]Willy Witthall was always a simple man. His life was always easy and he enjoyed his job as a factory worker. Everyday when he went home, he would kiss his wife, eat his dinner, and go to bed, and although he was slightly overweight, his health had never gone into a decline and he figured he must have the perfect life. Until one night everything changed.

“You should go home, Willy, you seem a little bit off,” Willy’s boss was always worried about his health; he was frequently working late lately and didn’t seem himself.

“No, I’m fine. I just need to…” he thought for a moment, he needed to sleep, but he didn’t want to admit it.

“Just go home Willy, before I make you do it,” Willy sighed, got his keys out of his locker, and left.

Several miles from his home Willy was stopped in the road by a small deer. “Move!” he yelled as the deer stood there, staring at his truck’s headlights. Willy got pissed and honked the horn; he rolled down the window and screamed even louder. The deer stood there, watching him under massive, beady eyes. Willy looked around, the sun had already set and it was midnight dark out, he had to get home. Willy put the car in neutral and hit the gas, his engines roaring like a hurricane’s thunder. The deer stood there, shifting his gaze from Willy to the car’s engine. Willy hit the gas even harder, putting the engine at its highest power. He was about to take his foot off the pedal when there was a loud pop, then a major crash. The deer fled at the sound, taking off into the thick, wooded forest.

Willy climbed out, his face beet red and about to release a volcanic spew of manners. He opened the trunk and was hit by a hot cloud of steam, he stepped back, tears coming to his eyes, “Aww, there is no way. No damn way…” he looked for his tools in the truck’s bed. There was nothing. He kicked the wheel of the truck, the only thing he could unleash his infinite anger on. Willy got back in the truck and closed the door, pulling out his cell phone. He picked it up, flipping it open and then throwing it at the dashboard. It was out of batteries. Willy sighed for a moment and put his head in his hands. What was his luck? Recently his wife and he were fighting a lot and he had nearly lost his job in a small incident with another worker. Now he had to work overtime to make up for it and never got time to talk to his wife about his stress. Willy sucked it up and opened the door.

“What now? What now?” Willy looked at the road; he was at least eight miles from his home and about twelve to his work the opposite way. He looked up at the sky, the stars were out and the moon was shining almost as bright as the sun itself. He stood there for a moment, thinking about what he was going to do. One thing was obvious; he would have to ditch the truck. He looked over at the forest, he remembered that there was another town about two or three miles in that direction, surely they would have a phone there. He got up and headed in the direction where the town would be…

Willy had traveled for at least half an hour and it seemed like he was going in circles. He saw the same logs, the same moss-covered rock; he even swore he heard the exact same cricket. He sat down on one of the logs and took a deep breath. He started to sob. “God, my wife’s gonna kill me!” Just then a crack was heard, Willy’s head shot straight up, he squinted to see through the dark.

“Hey, if you’re there, could you give me a ride to Gainstown, I could really use the help?” he waited a moment and there was another crack, “Hello? Could you please help me?”

He stood up, this fool was messing around with him, “Come on, stop kidding around, I need your help!” Willy’s hand turned into a fist as there was another crack, “Look, just come out, I don’t know where I am,” there was another crack and heavy breathing. Willy’s face went pale, illuminating the moonlight. He stood clumsily in the dark, staring in the direction the sound was coming from. The crack came again, along with the heavy breathing. Willy turned and fled for his life in the opposite direction. Tears were streaming down his face, “Please, please don’t kill me!” he tripped over a rock and went stumbling on his heels. He stumbled to get back up, running into a large field where the moon shined down on everything. He panicked; the killer would see him out in the open. He looked for something to hide behind and jumped behind a rock. “Look, if you are out there, I will not report you to the cops if you show me the way back to town,” he stayed there, crouched behind the rock like a small child playing Hide and Go Seek. There were no more cracks; he must have escaped the guy while he was running. No one could outrun slick-kick Willy. Then he coughed.

The crack came again and Willy bolted out from behind the rock, his face gone from pale to red. He pulled his jacket off, hoping it would give him more speed as he dodged several trees and a couple of rocks placed in the ground. “Jesus, please save me!” Willy continued running for several tough minutes until he came to a road. “Ha-ha! I made it, finally, I made it!”

Willy’s body was found the next morning by local officials. Apparently he had hit his head running onto the road four miles from his town. His wife came to confirm his body, sobbing as she did so. “Yes, yes, that-that’s my dear husband Willy,” she cried as the sheriff described how Willy had passed and that it was most likely painless. She left a few minutes later, most likely for funeral arrangements. The officer looked at Willy’s body and noticed he was missing an ear. He leaned close to the man’s body and examined his head. Those bite marks were unlike any he had ever seen before…

[spoiler=Ideas]

Feel free to PM me any ideas, however small to me and I will write an episode based on them for you.

[spoiler=About the Fan Fic]

My favorite show on TV is the Twilight Zone. In fact, recently, I have been obsessing with the Twilight Zone 24/7. So, in honor of The Twilight Zone I am starting my own series dedicated to it called, The Midnight Zone. This Fan Fic will not be written in a series or anything like that, but almost like different episodes of a TV show. Also, I will have a new episode each week, so check back frequently for new stories.
