WWE - Back to the Attitude Era?

Synchronized

Recommended Posts

I don't know if anyone managed to catch Raw, but at the end of the night, Triple H "broke into" Randy Orton's house, and the two engaged in a brawl that ended with HHH throwing Orton out a window and assaulting him on the front lawn before being placed into a Police Car.

Is this the beginning of the return of the Attitude Era in WWE?

Why not? We'd all like first-class scripts for a change' date=' won't we?

Until I see it all, with these peepin'-eyes, though, I won't believe Attitude has returned.

Well, did you watch Raw?

Did. Quite. Slept before the whole show ended.

I suck.

I was very impressed. The HBK/Undertaker Promo was very strong, and a great way to develop the rivalry. The Jericho/Kingston Match was great, simply because Kingston wrestled in it. The 6-Man Tag Team Match had Christian in it, so that's awesome, not to mention Rey Mysterio's sick Hurracanrana following the 619. The Triple H/Orton segment was great too. My favorite part was when Cena revealed that Vickie and Big Show were having an affair though. Why? Face Edge ftw!

Hum, no. Not at all. The Attitude Era is long past and WWE is irreversibly aimed at a younger audience. All this was was a decent way to hype a WM Main Event match between two sub-par wrestlers.

The way I see it, the only match featuring today's wrestlers that would be fitting to headline Wrestlemania is Undertaker vs Michaels. Screw the titles for once, those two have more talent than the rest of the roster combined. On that note, 17-0 or 16-1? I don't think the streak will, or should, end. Mark Calaway is getting old, I think he should leave on, say, his 20-0 Wrestlemania match. No point in blemishing a near-two-decade streak near the end, I say. Besides, Michaels' WM motivation has always been to outperform, not win. The way I see it, it'll be a great match, with Taker walking out on top with the streak intact, and a standing ovation for Michaels for stealing the show again - that's what he thrives on, not titles and victories.

The Undertaker is only 43 years old.

Yup; ignoring the decrepit Flair and lolHogan, not many wrestlers make it much farther than that in the main franchises- unless they don't care about their performance dropping in front of the fans, they should either retire or sign for smaller companies.

A man at 45 is not capable of performing to the same extent as one in his 20s, and especially somebody as renowned as Calaway shouldn't make the mistake of taking it too far. I think he should call it quits in the near future, especially because he'll continue to drop in terms of performance with the age. Whereas that wasn't much of a problem with Flair, whose moveset has always consisted of about 2 moves, The Undertaker persona is required to do powerhouse work; at 43, that ability is naturally compromised. You don't see him doing Last Rides from regular powerbomb lifts anymore, do you?

No, but he probably has about two years left in him.

I like where WWE is going with the Rivalry.

They might bring back the European Title, which is needed to become a Grand Slam Title.

Also the Hardcore, to get back their best fan base, although they don't have "The King of 24/7"(Crash Holly, who is dead) anymore, nor his storyline cousin. Or Molly.

Though they DO have Tommy Dreamer, "The WWE King of Hardcore"

I want the olden days of Wrestling. I want Hul Hogan, Ultimate Warrior and all the great wrestlers back! Or even have them all in a Royal Rumble style event (Imagine Big Show vs Andre the Giant!) There were some real Legends in those days The Hollywood Hero Hulkster.... I would sell my Kidney to see something like that.

The only moves the Old Wrestlers knew how to use were Piledrivers and Elbow Drops.

@*RD*, I do agree that the Triple H/Randy Orton Rivalry is going well right now. Knowing WWE, though, they'll most likely screw it up somehow.

I'll go as far as to say he has exactly three, and no more than that. With three more WMs he'll make it 20-0 and then be able to walk away properly. If WWE runs things in a sensible way, that's how I think the Deadman character will go out. 3 years, no more, no less.

Hickenbottom is older than Calaway by two years. If Mr. WrestleMania can last another year, Undertaker should be around for a while, so don't go saying he'll retire soon.

Hogan only appears often, and Ric is coming out of retirement.

Sure, but we'd have to split, since I'd be betting for the same thing, like I said in another post. :P

I seriously hope they don't play smart and end the streak this year in a "shocker"; as a wrestler, I prefer Michaels in terms of the excitement he gives to his matches, but purely out of respect for a legacy, they really shouldn't make Taker lose what has taken well over a decade to build.
