Big Ben68
[sniffs] That was beautiful...I'm a bit of a history buff and love me some WWII history and facts... I've always wondered where the swastika came from (I knew it came from a religion but what religion I knew not). I applaud thee for writing all of that. Also' date=' NO teacher is allowed to even attempt to take away ANY religious symbol or piece (unless it is a private school that is devoted to a religion). It goes against keeping church and state separate. I hope to read more from you if you decide to post it. Also, where did you find your facts for this?[/quote'] They can remove anything that would cause a disruption to the abilities of the students to learn.Other wise we would have morons yelling when evolution came up just to raise hell. ACTUALLY they can't really do ANYTHING about it. Just so you know or else I could complain that the Jewish kids hat (yamaka, I know) is burning my eyes...nothing will really be done...and nothing really should be done. People need to STOP being offending by EVERYTHING that comes there way. Personally I'm tired of it. If something offends you, then suck it up...don't be a whiny (I'll avoid using curses) and keep on going in life. But if his necklace (which can EASILY be concealed) was causing ANYBODY from NOT being able to learn is pathetic. The kid complaining should be removed NOT Death12328. Also, what moron would start yelling random stuff about evolution just to raise hell? Evolution isn't part of a religion (unless you count atheism or scientology). They would raise hell just because they can. Ever heard of a law suit for pants? and they can make you take it off or remove it or you. Its the power given to them. Other wise we would have people dressing up like demons and wearing swastikas and pentagrams intending to represent Saten and the murders of thousands of jews. That really doesn't make sense. There is an extent to what you may wear and what they may force you to remove. Have you never seen those (god awful) Goths roaming around your school? I've never once seen a teacher ask for them to remove that make up, black clothes, or any of the other possible things they wear. Also, as death12328 has explained the swastika was originally (and still is) a religious symbol and the Nazi Swastika is actually tilted compared to the straight up and down religious swastika. Another thing, if someone believes in satanism and that is their religion anything they are required to wear for it, they are allowed to wear (as long as it does not break the dress code rules of the Code of Student Conduct) and they don't have to be told to remove it (again, unless it breaks an actual rule)... Unforunitly most teachers don't take the time to understand whats going on. they acuse and then attack.

Quicksilver
You still have to understand the context varies from place to place. All symbols differ from context to context, sometimes it's just best not to make a big deal about context sensitivity.

Big Ben68
School doesn't teach the other half of the symbol that Hitler used for his flag. I was wearing a swastika necklace that was flat not slanted' date=' teachers try to bust me but couldn't because I had a great detail in knowledge about this symbol...[/quote'] i was not gonna read that..... i read like the first 2 sentences and already had no clue who they were and stuff! So, you mean to say, that you have NEVER heard of Hitler, the Nazis, or the Swastika?
