Flame Dragon
Since the tourny thread is now up, I will post the help thread. My post won't be as nice as Felix's, but to sum things up this is where question will be asked and discussions about matches (ie: you tell use what happened) will take place. If Felix want more stuff added to this, he can tell me.
Felix
Nah this is fine, thanks for posting it Flame. I've already PMed a bunch of people so there should be a few sign ups. I asked Chaos Pudding as I figured he'd be one of the best contenders but his DS went and broke on him. I hope he can get hold of another but it's unlikely. He has a Shoddy account so I'm going to see if he wants to battle me on that.
ιϻϻσяταᴌ Ωϻεϛα
BTW Felix, you should add a clause about Wonderguard AR hacks. Oh and just a question but I wanna know if you know this, what move can "Bypass" a wonderguarded Sabley or Spiritomb? PM me you answer.
Felix
Anything hacky, generally, will be obvious. Also the answer is any move that doesn't do direct damage (like Will-O-Wisp/ Stealth Rock/ Toxic) and also Fire Fang (god knows why, just a default in the game maybe). Now what I'm going to do is PM you a question.
JG.
Ok, I have a question, Felix told me to post here. It won't work' date=' but maybe you can help me. This is what it says. No compatible access point in range.Check your connection settings and try again. For help, visitwww.nintendowifi.com.(51099) That is written directly of my DS screen. PLease help![/quote'] ^You need a Wireless connection. If you already have wireless you need to set that particular connection to your DS. (Any more talk on this should be on help desk) I don't get what he means.

JG.
How do I set a wireless connection to my DS?
Flame Dragon
How do I set a wireless connection to my DS? You need to be near one. Since your getting this that means your not and that likely means you can't get Wifi.
Felix
Well you need to go on Wireless setting on the Blue background menu and select a Wireless connection that you want to use. I'll PM you a guide that I sent to HyuugaKing, it might be usefull it might not.
JG.
Yes, guide please.
Felix
Unfortunately I can't find it and I'm not going to write it out again. If you still have a little Nintendo Wi-Fi booklets that you get with games use that. The Wi-Fi setup is the same for all games.
JG.
Ok, I'll see if I can find that booklet. I think I have it but I'm not sure...
Flavour
I want to join the contest, but can't get my WiFi USB connector working. Any tips?
Felix
I don't know much about USBs but as far as I know you stick it in your computer and it becomes a wireless signal. Is it a Nintendo one or a different kind?
Flavour
It's a Nintendo one.
Felix
On the out of game menu go down to Nintendo WFC Settings then click Nintendo Wi-Fi Settings. after that click on Connect to your Nintendo Wi-Fi USB Connector. That's probably what you do but it I'm assuming there's some buisness you have to deal with the computer. Explain what you've done so far to try and get it to work. Zexaeon
This is for anyone having wireless difficulties: 1) Turn on your DS, and start your Pokemon Diamond/Pearl copy.2) Once you've reached the Main Menu, select the "NINTENDO WFC SETTINGS" button.3) You should now be in the new menu screen. Start by selecting the "Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection Settings" button.4) On the bottom screen, you'll see three boxes, reading "Connection 1", "Connection 2", and "Connection 3", respectively. Click on any one of them that you fancy. I recommend clicking on one that Says "None" on it.5) One in the new screen, you'll see three buttons. One says "Search for an Access Point", one says "AOSS" and the other says "Manual Setup". Click on the Search button.6) Your system should automatically start searching for a Wireless Access Point. Once it finds one, it'll display it on a list. It may find several, so I advise clicking on the one with the strongest signal. Once you've done that, it'll test the connection. If it's stable, you should be set!Troubleshooting: Q: "I'm not finding any access point! What's wrong?" A: If this happens, it's likely because your home either has no Wireless Internet access, or your Access Point is hidden by whomever controls the Internet in your House. If it's the latter, just ask them for the Name and information of the Access point, and set it up Manually. If it's the Former, I'm afraid you've got some Tough Luck. Q: "I found an access Point, but I can't use it because it says I need a WEP password!" A: Ah, this means that whoever controls the internet in your Home has palced security on the Access Point. Just ask them for the WEP and you should be fine.
Felix
Thanks Zexaeon, there's also that blue, green and red lock B/S. I'll see if I can rip anyone's guide on that.
Tekken Ham
I'm gonna take the conversation here for now. What hacks would I be able to use in raising my Pokemon to 100? Do Rare Candies mess with EVs? Can I use Rare Candies to get to 100? Or should I use a fast level up hack? Does the fast level up mess with EV's? Can I also use Master Balls to make the most obscure low tier team ever?
Zexaeon
Rare Candies are perfectly legal. They do not mess with EVs at all. Really, the only thing You CAN'T do is hack a Pokemon in with Max IVs, Illegal Max Stats, or illegal Movesets. Otherwise, any method available to you for raising a legal team is perfectl acceptable.
Tekken Ham
IV's? Also, what's the best way to raise the team?
Dark
This is the only place I felt suitable to post this, as this was an eariler question. The reason Fire Fang bypasses Wonder Guard is because when Nintendo created Wonder Guard on Shedinja, they needed to attach every move to the ability for every Pokemon, so your game wouldn't "explode" if you put Wonder Guard on something else. Fire Fang bypasses Shedinja for Wonder Guard, and I am assuming Nintendo un-awaringly skipped Fire Fang when assesing the Wonder Guard capabilities for Pokemon. Even against a Fire-type with Wonder Guard, Fire Fang will do damage.
Felix
I'm gonna take the conversation here for now. What hacks would I be able to use in raising my Pokemon to 100? ~ Instant EVs.~ Legal Movesets.~ Natures if you want to be a d!ck.~ IVs if you want me to hunt you down and force feed you glass. (These are random values so cheating to get them is not allowed and I swear I will kill you if you do) Do Rare Candies mess with EVs? No Can I use Rare Candies to get to 100? Yes but don't bother Or should I use a fast level up hack? No need to do either' date=' there's an option to bump them up to 100 when on Wi-Fi. All of the battles will be done on this[/b'] Does the fast level up mess with EV's? *Shrugs shoulders* Read the previous one Can I also use Master Balls to make the most obscure low tier team ever? If you want to use Pokeballs to catch a team that's completely up to you but you'll find your self getting hit over the head with a baseball/Cricket/Rounders/SoftBall/ bat by certain contenders. Breeding is the best way to get good legitamate Pokemon. Best way to raise them is hatch Pokemon with the right Nature and good IVs, then hack for instant EVs and the right moveset. You'll probably want it fully evolved also.
Tekken Ham
What would be the difference between raising and EVing/IVing my Pokemon, or just having them bumped up to 100 from Wifi? What ARE EVs and IVs? Would I have time to breed a team?
Felix
You'd have time to breed but not enough time to breed for right IVs. I'll let you hack for Nature because they make a world of difference and can be controled anyway. Go on http://Serebii.net click on Game Mechanics at the side then use the drop down menu. EVs and IVs are on the first section of the drop down menu. IVs are pretty random but chances of getting good ones can be influenced. EVs are gained during training it just takes a while.
