James Hitchen
I tried this idea once before, but people wrote some really weird stuff that didn't make sense, and kinda killed the concept. So I thought I'd give it another crack! I would like people to post opening hands that could win a duel on his/her first turn. This is quite a feat, but if it was pulled off then it would be spectacular! So I invite you all to post your ideas and comments. However from past experience I need to set some ground rules; 1. You need to list all cards you have in your hand, any you draw and how you would use them. Drawing cards is probably required for a lot of first turn kills, so denying them would make no sense.Start the duel with 8000 Life Points, and keep track of Life Points along the way. 2. You can use any legal card in your strategy, and banlists have no effect. This means no Egyptian Gods, but yes to Black Luster Soldier- Envoy of the Beginning. 3. You have to be able to win on your first turn. This means that if you choose your opponent can take the very first turn. This also means that you have to mention your opponent's moves as well. Please make it a realistic move, not just ending their turn. Of course, very first turn wins would be most welcome, I can't think of any myself! 4. Only use Exodia if it's a really good combo. If you say (as a guy did the last time I tried this, despite me advising against it) "Five exodia pieces. Instant win! *snicker*" you will gain no respect. 5. The more spectacular the better! I will positively rep anyone whose ideas I really like. Ok, I'll set things off. (btw this is the only FTK I ever managed to pull off, with extreme luck!) Opening Hand: Neos Alius, Mystical Space Typhoon, Montage Dragon, Yubel, Yubel- Terror IncarnateOpponent starts, draws, summons Vorse Raider 1900 ATK, plays a face-down, ends turn.I draw Doom Shaman. I play Mystical Space Typhoon and destroy his face-down. I summon Neos Alius 1900 ATK, then I send Yubel, Yubel- Terror Incarnate and Doom Shaman to the Graveyard to Special Summon Montage Dragon. By Montage's effect, his ATK is equal to the combined Levels of the sent monsters x 300. Combined levels = 27, 27 x 300 = 8100. I attack Vorse Raider with Neos Alius, both are destroyed due to equal ATK, and I attack directly with Montage Dragon to reduce his LP to 0. Ok, now your turn. Sleepy
my brother played a "Manju of the Ten-Thousand Hands" to get "Ritual of the White Dragon" and use it to summon "Paladin of the White Dragon" and tributed it for "Blue-Eyes White Dragon" (you can tell these where blue eyes vs. Dark magician fun decks ) and Set "Burst Stream of Destruction" & "Heavy Storm" (I knew what those face-down cards were after I won) my opening hand: "Dedication Through Light and Darkness", "Sage Stone", "Magical Dimension", "Magic Formula", "Magician's Valkyria" & drew "Dark Magician Girl" Summoned Valkirya and used Magical Dimension to tribute it, Special Summon DMG, and destroy Blue-Eyes. Used Sage Stone to Special Summon Dark Magician from my Deck. activated Dedication through Light & Darkness to tribute Dark Magician for DMoC (ATK 2800). (DMG's ATK 2000 +300 = 2300). DMoC lets me recover Sage Stone, I used it for another Dark Magician.(ATK 2500). Activated Magic Formula on DMG (ATK 2300 + 700 = 3000). and finally attacked directly (8000 - 3000DMG - 2800 DMoC - 2500 Dark Magician = 0. very unusual hand I must say. I've never been able to draw that again, and had the luck that my opponent didn't have traps.
Felix
Cyberstein, Limeter Removal, Megamorph, Heavy Storm and so on. When this deck wasn't illegal I capped out Cyber End Dragon at around 20,000. Can't remeber the exact situation but I remeber blowing up their back row then pwning whichever monster they had out, along with their Life Points. Felix
Well it was on WC 2006 and the list I was using must have been before Cyber end Dragon was released and Cyberstain banned. It's not a difficult manouver to pull off and that's why Cyberstein was banned. The likely hood of me doing the same thing with IRL cards is 0%. It was March 2004 list so I don't know how that works with Cyber End dragon.

Toffee.
Wolf, You activate Emperor's effect. I like mine because I can X 3 all but foolish, which is at 2, and there are other ways to pull it off. all I need is 16 spell counters on the field (both sides) total. werewolfjedi
Only 16? Piece of cake [/sarcasm] spell counters come a lot more often than you think.it's 500 per counter for tempest's effect.exemplar gets 2 per spell played. tempest allows me to discard cards for equal an equal number of counters, any draw or search card that gets me another spell means that it just keeps building until I reach critical mass. and solemn cuts the number of counters I need in half, so solemning any part of it actually helps me more. 16 down to 8, then 4, then 2. it comes down to this fact: never solemn a tempest running spell counter deck. it only screws you more. Guest Chaos Pudding
Reasoning, Reasoning, Toon Cannon Solider, Monster Reborn, Premature Burial, Last Will. The only other monsters in the Deck are DMoC, Magical Scientist, and Catapult Turtle. Activate both Reasonings. If opponent calls right on both, and the cards are Cata and Scientist, Reborn and Prem. If DMoC + *insert card* and are both called right, Reborn the other, play Last Will, summon Solider, Tribute himself and pull the other. Do I really have to spell out how this hand FTKs every time (and the deck in general > 9/10 times)?
Sleepy
my magical city usually gets to have that much by its own.. its perfectly possible and makes tempest kinda broken, (that's why I love to use it that much  ) and you need 16 only for the OTK, assume that you have more and your opponent less Life Points when you usually synchro summon this card

I don't agree with your first statement about probability. I started this thread to throw probability to the wind and just think of combos that could win a duel. I do agree with your second statement, having more than one pot of greed in a deck is a bit wasteful anyway. Also, getting cards to draw more cards to get exodia isn't creative, and is ignoring one of the rules I set at the beginning.
