Finally things are coming again, so I actually like this chapter although it is a mesh of everything. The Fullbringers really tapped into the appropriate battle scenes which I really liked, including Rukia's (Bunnies FTW). And Byakuya saying that in front of Tsukishima made him feel once again badass prideful again.

I couldn't resist sticking that panel from the newest chapter into my sig. xD Anyone know what the effect text at the bottom of it says?

The chapter felt short, although I read it in bits, so that might have had something to do with it. I really like when these chapters cut away to show the different fights though.

Glad we finally saw Yachiru again.

I kinda like the bone clips (i think they're clips) in her hair now, but she's still same 'ol Yachiru.

Bleach always feels short. Mostly because most of a page is action scenes with no speaking so you just look at it and go next.

^This.Though the characters have been training to be able to stand on par with Aizen, they just make everyone else look like blades of grass while the shinigami are tornados.

And that is why this arc is getting so bad. One of the most basic rules of villains is that the villain should be more powerful than the hero. Taken from Mark Rosewaters article on villains

I don't believe this lesson is obvious at first blush. People want to root for the hero. Shouldn't he or she be the strongest one in the story? No, he or she can't be. Why? Because stories hinge upon the conflict. Our hero winning means something because it was a difficult task. If the conflict was something that could easily be overcome, then our hero wasn't very heroic. What makes a hero heroic is overcoming great odds to win. This means there have to be great odds. Things have to be stacked against the hero. To do this we have to make the villain stronger than the hero. Note by "stronger" I don't necessarily mean physically stronger—just that he or she has more resources at his or her disposal than the hero.

Up until Ichigo got his powers back this rule would have applied, but now that not only has his uber strength come back, but all the other CAPTAINS have shown up, any potentially interesting fights are lost since it's obvious how things are going to turn out thanks to none of the Xcution being close to Captain level.

Except maybe Tsukishima or Ginjou.
