Aizen doesn't have Bankai. Prove me wrong.

 

Aizen does. Remember Yoruichi said that all Captains side from Ken have it.

 

They thought Aizen's shikai was something completely different, why couldn't they be wrong about his bankai? We already know Aizen is crazy awesome without his shikai or the Hougyoko - blocking Bankai Getsuga bare-handed, anyone?

The Bankai could have been an illusion.

Or it could have not been. It would be odd for some one of Aizen's power level to not have a Bankai as well.

They can be, but it's a groundless theoryso we can only work with the info we have, and that info is that Aizen has a Bankai. And again odds are he does have one since, if memory serves, he has also said that he as reached the peak of his Shinigami powers, meaning he also has Bankai.

They can be, but it's a groundless theoryso we can only work with the info we have, and that info is that Aizen has a Bankai. And again odds are he does have one since, if memory serves, he has also said that he as reached the peak of his Shinigami powers, meaning he also has Bankai.

 

Our info is that Yoruichi says that all captains have Bankai except Kenpachi. We know from Byakuya that there are three common ways to become a Captain; take the test (which involves Bankai), defeat the previous Captain - which, unless there was another captain in between Shinji and Aizen, is impossible, or by recommendation by X amount of captains (six?) and approval by another few. With Kyouka Suigetsu, Aizen could easily fool a few people into him having Bankai. We're talking about the guy who managed to trick an entire society into thinking his sword was his dead corpse.

 

And IIRC, his words were more along the lines of "I have reached the limit of my Shinigami state" as a reply to Isshin saying that he's tired, not relating to any of his actual powers.

Again, your assuming to much. We don't know how Aizen became a captain. We do know that he is strong enough to have Gin and Tosen on his side, both of which are very strong and meaning he would need to be stronger then them both and since they both have Bankai the safest thing to assume is that he also has it.

 

And I wasn't refearing to the quote. Their was another one, but I can't remember when it was since it was a long time ago that I remember reading it.

We all know how incredibly overpowered Aizen's shikai is, right? It creates complete illusions and takes over all five senses. Aizen wouldn't need a bankai to be stronger than Gin or Tousen. Had he tried to kill them, he would have succeeded. And yes, I am aware that Tousen is naturally immune to Kyouka Suigetsu, but Aizen is powerful even without his Shikai. He shows us this as recently as in the last chapter, when he fires of a 63rd-level Kidou not only without incantation, but without saying it's rank. Not to mention that Kyouka Suigetsu's Shikai is more powerful than Kamishini no Yari or Enma Korogi - which by itself is a more limited version of Kyouka Suigetsu.

Please tell me then how people weaker then Aizen can have Bankai and he not have it. Only the most powerful Shinigami and seeing as how Aizen is one of the strongest their is no reason to think he hadn't achieved bankai.

 

It's not that I don't want to show it, it's that I can't remember it. But I did find what I was trying to remember, and isn't wasn't their. I was thinking back to when Aizen was talking about the natural limit of Shinigami and I thought he had said that he had mastered all 4.

There is no reason to think Aizen has achieved Bankai, either, just because of something Yoruichi said prior to Aizen's reveal.

 

Think of it this way, then. Shikai and Bankai are power / usefulness coefficients. Depending on the individual Zanpakuto's strength, these power coefficients have different values. Let's say, for example, that Zabimaru has a Shikai coefficient of 1.25 (note: these numbers are completely off the top of my head) and a Bankai coefficient of 2.5. Now, on the other hand, Kyouka Suigetsu has a much higher Shikai coefficient, possibly 4 or 5. (Yes, an Aizen with his Shikai released is far more useful than one without.) Thus, he doesn't need Bankai to be stronger than other people.
