*Butts into conversation*

Honestly, I've just been happy from Kenpachi's Shikai's reveal (He's my favourite character), so I don't mind the current content. However I do think Ichigos been taking his sweet time. I'm hoping the next chapter will reveal some of his power, though I fear not much of it because the four of them don't seem powerful enough to make him show his peak. Also, he still has his confrontation with Bach, so I guess he won't be revealing his best, such as his new Bankai (I hope).

Bleach 583 here

Over 400 chapters since the Getsuga Tensho made it's appearance, over 8 years of just that, Ichigo finally does something new with his sword.

He does two at once.

Truly this is worthy of the highest accolades for his majesty, Tite Kudo-sensei-sama.

this should have been 5 pages tops. at this point it's not pacing, its literally slow as an artform. in a way i'm kind of impressed that it's going this slow. at least we know how he plans on dragging it out for 5-6 more years.

other than that though, a +2 getsuga tenshou really isn't all that special when you consider his hollow has been doing multi-spiral tenshous since the fight with byakuya.

I love reading Bleach. I don't think the pacing is bad, just slower, which isn't even a bad thing. Every week, where ever I go, it's complete criticism. If you don't like it, stop being a masochist and go do something else. Option 2 is to let the chapters build up. There are plenty of other things you could be doing than griping.

I'll admit, I did like seeing the three of them consider what they could get if they kill Ichigo, and the zombie girl couldn't think of anything. Plus, if Candice has managed to convince them to use Vollständig, and they do that, then we may finally get to see them die.

I thought she was thinking of eternal darkness or something.

As for the chapter, well, I liked the ending panel.

As do I, but don't think I'm ready to see the gluttony chick's Vollständig. I wasn't prepared for As Nodt's Creepypasta Mode. How bad could the Zombie Girl's be (I predict regret for that statement). I hope the strength girl doesn't physically change at all but...

I think it's fair game to critique it. It's one of those "I've been following it for so long that I HAVE to see how it ends" ones.

There's nothing wrong with you liking the series, but there's no stopping criticism that keeps being true every new chapter.

Just like someone said in this thread a long time ago "I'd feel cheated if I was actually paying for these". As someone that got to purchase 30 or so volumes of this, I feels I'm in my full right to talk about it as much as I want.

The pacing wasn't like this in the first 100 or so chapters of goodies, so we know Kubo could do better.

Do you think we are incorrect to say the chapters are having almost nothing happen? I certainly agree that the series is better when read in bulk, but people hate waiting. When you put out content every week and aren't doing anything in those chapters, its frustrating.

I'm in no way saying you can't talk about or critique anything. Rather I'm saying, there's difference between that and "Omg this series is sheet"...

There are always people that take it too far, but the line between talking about the bad and just falling on badmouthing in this case can sometimes get very ambiguous.

To be fair, I still wanna know where the series goes so, there's that. If it was the worst thing ever it'd be easier to drop.

Though, it does get awkward a lot. Pretty much the pacing is what is critiqued the most. I think the conflict is partly between Jump needing weekly releases for the magazine and Kubo needing more time to pace his events AND make longer chapters for a more worthwhile release. Which brings me to think maybe Kubo had a fair amount of the manga already done when it started coming out in stores. I mean, he even made all those random but awesome cover images everywhere between chapters and stuff...  Nowadays it has the style, but it's more evident he's pressed to fill his quota.

For me, it's just frustrating because Kubo did pack more into his chapters in the earlier days. And the first 3rd (maybe even half) of the series was genuinely great and interesting stuff that I wholeheartedly enjoy.

I'm just sad that he's resorted to drawing out events in the series with multiple chapters when he could have made them better by putting more effort into them, rather than just making a buttload of characters with their own little gimmick that serve as the "plot" for the finishing arc.

If the Vollstandig were a short handful of people, like the Espada or something, he'd be expanding on their characters and get us sucked into their fights. I know the Hueco Mundo saga definitely had its faults, but we did get good/cool characters like Ulquiorra, Grimmjow and Starrk out of it and a peek into how captains like Kyoraku fought.

But we're not getting that here. The Vollstandig could pass for filler characters from the anime and it's become clear Kubo's trying to milk as much as he can from the series before he finally ends it.

In all honesty, a part of me does like Bleach at the end of the day. I like Ichigo, I like Kenpachi and Kyoraku, and a bunch of others. And stuff like Kenpachi's fights and Rukia's Bankai were interesting highlights. But there's no denying that Bleach's quality is nothing compared to how it used to be. I'm not reading each chapter every week thinking it's sh*t, I'm wishing it was better because if Kubo really applied himself, he could do it.
