He already was an incredibly powerful monster since the first battle with Ichigo, able to take fatal damage as if it was a poke. Then the manga dedicated a lot of hype on his training and made it clear that his previous self was abysmally weaker than his current self (with Unohana being able to instant kill him and revive him tons of times as if it was child's play and him eventually getting strong enough to kill her). That said, even if they try to make it sound like an exaggerated out-of-this-world amount of pain from Gremmy, it still doesn't have as much impact to me as a reader. Plus, Gremmy wasn't even that much of a warrior. To have Kempachi be that beat down is bullshit.Which is not to say that being in outer space is anything short of hellish, but the writing didn't really succeed in regards to the impact. IDK why. You said it yourself, Gremmy was a horrible character. Kubo made a bad call making such an uninteresting character so strong. As said, I can accept, being put into space, as a reason that Ken was near a limit. It also doesn't help matters that the 4 women really aren't interesting either. Since that most definitely wasn't implied from the way he just got blown to pieces. As well as confirming that Ikkaku was in good shape (Which implies the other two with him are as well) But no... the reveal of Ichigo now was just... idiotic. Because at this rate he is just going to abandon about half a dozen characters to have no fight. (Unless he does the obvious, have Yamamoto's Bankai zombie up All the dead Sternritter, fresh for round two against everyone else who've yet to fight). I'm at least looking forward to Ichigo's new power a bit. And his new design seems decent. You know he's gonna lose that cloak super quickly though. The next chapter is probably just going to be a redo of the moment where he soloed the three Lieutenants after getting Bankai (And before Byakuya turned up). vla1ne Posted May 30, 2014 Report Share Posted May 30, 2014 please tell me that nobody can sense his reiatsu. for those of you who might not remmber why this would e a big deal, during the ichigo vs aizen fight, ichigo was at a level so far above aizen that aizen couldn't sense it.himself (and at that particular point in time, aizen was already above yamamoto) if they can, then that means we're probably not even near his final form(again). other than that though, i actually didn't mind this chapter all that much. i figured it'd be short anyways, so why even get annoyed anymore.
