You know, for a second, when I started reading this chapter, I though it'd be about the soul king, for some odd reason, But I guess it's nice to know that an eternally war-hard zombie is in charge of the quincies, instead of just an intelligent mastermind with enough power to match the zero squadron...

On another note, exactly how thought out was his plan to send all his pawns in to die? I can't see this working out as a long-term strategy. Also, does that mean Yuzu and Karin are also eligible to be sacrificed to him when they die since Ichigo might be?

Bleach #565: Two guys talk about something.

So, is there supposed to be a war going on?

Characters call it a war, and the arc's title says so as well, but all I've seen are 1-on-1 fights with no sense of a wider scale battle going on.

There's no energy, no tension, and no sense of dread and chaos.

When Goku left King Kai to confront the Saiyans, there was that sense of terror that Gohan and Krillin were the last two fighters to hold off Nappa and Vegeta after the rest of the team were killed one by one.

Here, Ichigo is heading to this big battle, except there's no big battle, or a sense of dread if he'll make it in time to save everyone or not. Ichigo can drop in around issue #915, and it really won't mean anything.

I know its wishful thinking, but I'd like to think that some small part of Kubo still cares about whats he's doing with Bleach.

______

Nah, Kubo doesn't have the passion to try and tell a good story anymore.

He does, however, have the passion to squeeze every cent he can out of what's left of his readerbase.

Speaking of which, I wonder when Kubo will go into the backstory of Uryu's glasses. Which doctor prescribed them? What store does he get them from? Backstory of the doctor? Backstory of the cashier? C'mon, Kubo, I'm giving you ideas!

I actually thought this was a fine chapter. The dude not knowing Renji was actually sleeping is funny and it seems that his power as something to do with observing. Rukia fighting fear guy is predictable though her having no fear seems dumb. Fear dude also came off cool in this chapter. Chapter was still short as hell though.

Let's be honest. What could Rukia honestly be afraid of? Ichigo liking another girl

Also, "fear" is in quotes. Very easy to believe she found someway around it or maybe other things.

She said, in one translation, "what if your "fear" doesn't work on someone," which can be taken many ways.

Renji was dang hilarious though.

I'd say its more likely that she found a way around it. And yea, this is one of the reason I love actually getting jump. If nothing else, I'd hope the official translation is correct.

So, who want's to bet she's still gonna lose somehow?

This chapter made her look stronger, and I hope she really is, but I get the feeling it's just gonna be used to build up this fear guy, and then have somebody like zaraki actually give the killing blow.
