So essentially, the Visored should have taken care of this entire incident? And again, why did Soifon need Bankai when 3-4 chapters ago she was moving fast enough to have potentially gotten at least 3 hits in with her Shikai? I thought she was one of the practical captains...

Huh, maybe. I figured it was just the ice making armor for him, but yeah, the bankai are supposed to be Hollowfied.

Yea, I thought it was only going to last for a second. Strange that he is getting a mask.

To be fair, they didn't know the Quincy were weak to them, but yea. From this point they better go and kick all the ass.

Cause Soifon isn't that smart. Seriously, why didn't she use her shikai? It is one of the strongest and it fits her a ton more. Maybe cause hes a robot?

She never even tried to use it though, and that's what annoys me. If she had tried it and it got somehow blocked or avoided I'd believe that much. But for her, the captain of the Assassins, to have forgotten her best killing technique (the 2-step death). I can't believe it at all.

I don't think Kubo knows what Pantheism means.

My thoughts exactly.

Also, regarding Sui-feng, I think at this point she doesn't want to risk trying to get in two hits. Remember, her bankai is essentially an OHK, and the only reason she doesn't use it normally is because she can often get the advantage of stealth. That's not going to apply here.

"A FLOWERY TOMBSTONE SET IN ICE APPEARS!"

- A fantranslator

"Good guy gets power back from throwaway villain. Promptly trashes bad guy with restored powers." Solid concept that's been used for dramatic moments thousands of times throughout fiction. Has consistently worked throughout the Power Rangers franchise everytime they've done it (like 15 times now.)

Now, if Tits Kubo writes "Cang turns the fight around with some BS power" in the next issue, he'll suck even more than he already does.

The problem is, during the chapter that she showed her "super-speed" flash step, she had ample time to get in at least 10 hits using her shikai. We'd already seen how fast she could strike the same area 2x, this time she was moving at least 3x the speed she did the time she got 2 hits in.

And even before that, the planning of soul society, which is for all intents and purposes, a military organization, has a surprising lack of coherent strategy. He had good ideas when he was showing the training, the ash/ice, Mayuri analyzing everything, and nanao's skills at analyzing spiritual pressure, there was even enough there to repel almost all of the quincy if they did it right, but it's like he can't figure out how to properly use them together without ruining it halfway through.

I know it might seem like whining, but when it takes me 5 seconds to think of how techniques can be implemented in better ways, it just feels like the author is either trolling us, or suffering from sleep depravation (if not both).

He explained it... AGAIN!!! did he not learn from the last time?

...On the other parts of the chapter though, looks like the one chick is impatient as well as arrogant, hope she gets hinamori'd. and Ichigo's on the way back, I guess? meanwhile the other captains are M.I.A. and the Fuhrer appears to be thinking 2 moves ahead of everybody else which is good(?) to know. I wonder though was that the reason he got uryu to join him? I don't get that part.

When obvious sarcastic capitalizing is there and commons sense is applied, yes, it is.

It would only obviously be sarcasm if i knew that "Sternritter are now using Quincy Völlstanding" wasn't shocking, but I didn't because I don't remember half of the stuff that's said in manga, so it has nothing to do with common sense.

So, allow me to just... compile what just happened.

You knew it was a Quincy technique that shouldn't be shocking, or you wouldn't have replied to him with "Really?".

You know the Sternritter are Quincies.

Yet you claim it's not common sense that it's sarcasm, despite you being condescending to someone because you believed it was, in fact, obvious that the Sternritter would use it.

Saying you don't remember every little thing as an argument doesn't hold up with your initial post on the subject, because you clearly have at least some idea of how idiotic it would be to actually be shocked by this development.
