That flashback was just awkward.

Not only is it bad that the info should have been worked inside the story rather than the creator just explaining it to us as the narrator from lack of imagination of how to explain it in-universe, but it was also an awkward time to introduce that story, tool.

So we are getting to know about the main villain after he's been just defeated? Uhh... clever last minute suspense?...... No, not really.

Not to mention, the fashback's purpose is just to tell us "he villain was killed but it wasn't really him". Which is the type of scenario that other shows would use as an intentionally bad parody to mock THIS type of show.

I'm unamused.

Though I like the idea of Aizen being around again.

Also, I think the "suspense" of who is there with Urahara, has dragged for way too long, and Urahara had a somewhat scared expression. If Kubo kills him I'm going to be very dissapointed =(

*Aizen

But, yeah. I'll be fed up with Bleach if many more characters die. It just seems like they're ending the series by killing off everyone's favorites characters then have the protagonist come in and get a cheap win.

I think we can all agree Bleach should have just ended after Aizen was beaten. Had that been the finale I actually would have been very happy. But no, we're going to need to sit through at least another 100 chapter before we can finally see this to the end and its not going to have that same feeling that chapter 423 had.

iKira, I think a Bolivian Army Ending would be dumb. The only way that should happen is if this series gets cancelled.

Flame Dragon, I agree. Literally the only thread left was the Spirit King, could have been left ambiguous. That and ending the series with Rukia saying goodbye to Ichigo would have been meh, but it would have been more emotionally resonate than Bakuman.

I suppose when I posted that, I kinda meant a signal for the return of Aizen or perhaps a sort of candy tossed out to the viewers at the end that could leave it really ambiguous. I was wrong in that a BAE would be impossible without killing everyone else first and then forcing Ichigo into a suicide charge or something. I suppose I meant an ending more similar to the ending of Inception

There is stuff I didn't quite get:

[spoiler=spoiler]

Kenpachi's sub captain, she was shown in the last panel of the chapter.

The other 4 or so captains we saw at the end.

^What happened to them? We kinda got that Soul Society is destroyed, but their deaths were not shown. Is it supposed to be a given because the captain comander lost? They gave me the impression that those characters were sensing/witnessing the place in ruins at the end.

If they are dead, we should see that, if they are not, what happened? Weren't there enough stern ritters to cover about twice the captains? why would the Stern Ritters let them fly away?

Also, if they are not dead, is the 0 squad really going to appear like that?

Aizen... they said "retreat until squad 0 comes", wheren't they into going to Aizen? Guess they'll just leave him there a few more years until they remember again.

Seems like Kubo doesn't really know how to place a Chekov's Gun properly....

I honestly don't know what to think in regards to this chapter.

On the one hand, Kudo at least finished up with yama's death though it still feels empty.

On the other, the ending wasn't much of anything. Even though we know someone is coming next chapter, I honestly don't care. The whole chapter just feels so zombie-ish.

Also, I didn't see Yachiru (Kenpachi's sub cap.) at all in that chapter. So could you point me to exactly which panel she appeared in sleepy?

I doubt they were all killed; Kubo merely showed their expressions of surprise sensing either the impeding destruction and/or Yama's death.

Juha said he already visited Aizen when Yama was fighting the fake Juha; Aizen said no to Juha's offer and now he and the Quincies are retreating.

I also feel like Yama's death was a little empty. Like I should've been feeling something more, but I couldn't :/

Oh, I thought he meant he was just going to do that after getting the work done there.

I'll have to check some parts again...

At the end of the chapter in which Yamamoto kills the fake guy, I saw this:

l021.jpg

Not sure if it's part of the story, or just for decoration though (because translators put many color images and stuff at the end of some chapters, and this appeared after one of them)

Although it still made me wonder where that character is supposed to be right now.

after looking for it, I guess it wasn't last chapter after all... umm....... details ^^"

It's fanart. You should've been able to tell by the dA link in the bottom-right corner.
