Now if that's all he knows only Urahara's bankai acquisition method would work for him and that takes 3 days. Now something I see as much more likely would be Zaraki figuring out what his shikai's special ability is. To do so he would have to learn the swords name so even that won't most likely happen.In other words, don't count on Kenpachi getting new powers just to kill Yammy. His alternative costume is him with his helmet in most games. Although it’s implied that his Bankai mimics his movements perfectly, most games give the two some degree of independence from each other to make it work better as a game mechanic. Yammy is Espada Numero Cero, what that means I don't know, but there has to be a reason why he hasn't died yet. I don't know if its just me, but the way Tousen annouces his pre-Hollowfication kind of sounds like him and Aizen are the only ones that know about it.
